We’re delighted to share that Andy Kennedy, Crendon Timber Engineering NKADT Manager joined by Ben Dixon and Jim Fletcher, proudly represented Grimethorpe Band at a prestigious royal event on Thursday 3rd April, a reception hosted by His Majesty King Charles III at Windsor Castle.
Held in the majestic surroundings of the Waterloo Chamber and St George’s Hall, the reception celebrated the vital role of community music in bringing people together. His Majesty welcomed over 350 guests from across the UK, showcasing grassroots groups, volunteers, and community leaders who use music to inspire, uplift, and unite.
The event opened with performances by three musical ensembles, before guests were invited to meet the King during a drinks reception. Speaking of the experience, Andy said:
“Being invited to Windsor Castle by the King in recognition of the hard work Grimethorpe Band does for our communities was a huge honour and privilege. Grimethorpe Band are very proud of the long history of being community-focussed, and our Youth and Education programmes continue to inspire the next generation of young players.”
👏 A huge congratulations to Andy, Ben and Jim on this unforgettable day!
